System Test Technician (12 Month Contract)

We are looking for a Systems Test Technician to support test operation of integrated test assets during the night and weekend shifts. You will be responsible for physical configuration changes, setup and maintenance of integrated test assets.


In order to accelerate our schedule, we are running tests around the clock with different teams across the globe. You will be the onsite support to various test teams working on our component and system Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) , including our Iron Bird test asset. The successful candidate will be proactive, work autonomously, hands-on and eager to solve problems. 


Due to the nature of the work required for this position, this is an onsite opportunity. You will be required to work from our Fremont office.


What you will do:
  • Work with various test teams (including remote) to set up and troubleshoot issues on various integrated test assets.
  • Perform physical configuration changes or upgrade to the test asset per the test team request.
  • Interpret drawings and wiring diagrams to assemble electromechanical systems, test fixtures and harnesses.
  • Select and procure necessary hardware and tools.
  • Inspect and perform routine maintenance on the HIL test stations.
  • Document configuration change and maintenance activities in log book.
  • Log deficiencies and participate in the resolution and disposition activities.
  • Load software and firmware update on aircraft equipment and avionics systems.  
  • Diagnose issues on the HILs, whether they are hardware or software related.
  • Organize the HIL lab, implement inventory and tool control. 
  • Coordinate routine maintenance on the HIL test stations.


What you have done:
  • A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficient with hand machine shop tools and basic electronics tools (Oscilloscope, multimeter)
  • Understanding of aerospace safety, tool control, FOD, and other industry standards
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.


Desired:
  • Familiarity with National Instrument (NI) hardware and software (Veristand, Labview, PXI)
  • Comfortable around High Voltage (600V and higher), battery and electric motors
  • Familiarity with Linux and scripting languages like Python is a plus

$40 - $44 an hour

Pay Range the Company expects to pay: $40 - $44 per hour - The starting base pay within this range for this role varies based on factors such as your geographical location, and your relevant job-related experience that is consistent with a business necessity.
