About the job 


Our Credit Operations team is integral to the success of our business at Wisr, and this is the opportunity for an experienced Credit Analyst to join the team in a key role, responsible for assessing and making decisions on consumer applications for unsecured and secured asset finance loans. This could include loan purposes such as debt consolidation, motor vehicles, renovations and more.


This is not an ordinary credit position - you will be granted a high level of autonomy, responsibility and freedom to make decisions. This role is responsible for ensuring risk and customer credit worthiness is assessed in alignment with Wisr’s Credit Policy within relevant agreed time frames. 


Common activities will include:

• Assess and make credit decisions on consumer loan applications, ensuring information is accurate and genuine

• Analyse financial documents including, but not limited to, bank statements, rental statements and tax documents for a variety of structures 

• Verify and validate that all regulatory and lending policies are adhered to

• Perform serviceability checks as well as ID and Fraud verification

• Communicate effectively via phone or email with brokers and customers when needed for decision-making 

• Ensure compliance with NCCP, RG209, Privacy Act and AML/CTF

• Contribute to continual process improvements within the company operations


About You


With a minimum of 3 + years working within consumer lending (secured and unsecured ideal), you’re a confident decision-maker with a demonstrated ability to work in a high-volume, ever-changing environment. 


You thrive in a fast paced team environment, working collaboratively with cross functional teams to achieve common goals. You have passion for ongoing learning and growth, and love to understand the why. 


You’ll also:

• Currently hold a Delegated Lending Authority of at least $50,000. This is a box you need to tick!

• Have a sound working knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements for consumer lending

• Be able to make credit decisions quickly and confidently

• Be highly organised and adaptable to change

• Have strong analytical problem-solving skills and a high level of attention to detail

• Ability to work autonomously

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to build and maintain internal and external relationships
