A position at Xcel Energy could be just what you’re looking for.We anticipate the need for one Substation Electrician to be located at the Mankato Service Center, in Mankato, MN. The starting wage rate for this position will be $55.55 per hour according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position will be posted for 10 working days from 10/29/24 to 11/07/24.Requires worker to construct, maintain, and operate facilities and equipment that relates to energized and de-energized distribution and transmission station equipment. Applicant must be self-motivated, work well with others, have a positive attitude and be committed to working safely. The applicant will be expected to respond to callout after normal work hours and weekends. The applicant will also be required to obtain knowledge on Company related software to complete their daily tasks.Applicant will be responsible for installing, constructing, inspecting, repairing and maintaining all electrical substation equipment such as: Cap banks, high voltage transformers, structures, conductors, conduits, switches, power circuit breakers, regulators, generators, motors, pumps, instrumentation, metering, control and other wiring. Individual will be responsible for obtaining and verifying proper clearances and be able to switch 345kv, 230kv, 115kv, and all distribution high voltages. Must have basic knowledge of National Electric Code, FERC, Hazmat, OSHA regulations.
