This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on Article’s supply chain, ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of products to our customers.

***Please note we are looking for someone on the Operations side who has had exposure to the testing and utilization of OMS, WMS, and TMS systems. You will be a part of testing the new OMS.

***You will need to be in office at our Jacksonville Warehouse twice per week. Location:
10543 Canada Drive, Jacksonville, FL

In this role, you will play a key part in improving logistics systems and processes, with an initial focus on supporting the implementation of our new Order Management System (OMS), and how this folds into our existing systems and in-house Transportation Management System (TMS). While this is an individual contributor role, you will act as a process advocate, championing standardized and improved workflows for the operational team.

The following is the plan of how the work will be split in the coming year:
  • First 6 months: Dedicated to the OMS project, gaining deep expertise to become an operational subject matter expert (SME).
  • Post-project: Transition into the operational team, leveraging system knowledge to drive process improvements and ensure best practices are embedded in daily logistics operations.
  • Future Horizon: Support an upgrade to our in-house TMS (Transportation Management System) solution.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment, enjoys problem-solving, and operational work, and wants to play a pivotal role in shaping Article’s logistics processes for the future.

What You’ll Do:

  • Responsible for planning E2E transportation movements (forward and reverse) in assigned region and area, considering factors such as delivery deadlines, capacity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Schedule and track shipments, ensuring on-time pick up and delivery.
  • Utilize transportation management systems (manual or automated) to plan and optimize lanes with an eye on safety first and legal compliance.

  • Collaborate with freight carriers to coordinate appointments and ensure adherence to schedules.
  • Monitor carrier performance through KPIs, escalating issues as necessary to the account management team to improve service quality.
  • Assist in invoice auditing to ensure compliance with carrier contract rates, and work with our new Freight Auditor Management tool.
  • Contribute to performance reviews and periodic calls to assess metrics like DIFOT (Delivered in Full on Time), schedule adherence, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure transportation operations comply with all relevant industry regulations and safety standards, including customs requirements and documentation accuracy.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including warehouse and fulfillment teams, to coordinate pick-up and delivery schedules.
  • Work closely with your Continuous Improvement partner to bring forward ideas and prioritize opportunities.
  • Communicate shipment status and resolve any issues or escalations with cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with operational managers to optimize routes and execution across stations.
  • Act as a Business Subject Matter Expert (SME) when required in supporting changes to logistics systems, including contributing to the implementation of a new Order Management System (OMS) in 2025 and a potential future Transport Management System (TMS).
  • Develop and validate user stories and test scripts for system enhancements, ensuring alignment with operational needs and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Technology and Operations teams to support the rollout and testing of new systems, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
  • Assist with training initiatives to ensure team members are proficient in utilizing updated systems and processes.
  • Regularly update key logistics documentation to reflect system updates, process changes, and best practices.

Who You Are:

  • Extensive experience in logistics planning and transportation management, with a minimum of 5 years in the field.
  • Strong experience working with an Order Management Systems (OMS).
  • Strong ability to write user stories, create testing scripts, and validate system functionality - not lead it but you have been a part of it.

  • Completion of criminal background check.
