Job Description:

Collaborate with innovative 3Mers around the world

As an Activation Marketing Specialist, you will play a key role for leading execution of activation plan for the key segments for Industrial Specialties Division in Mexico. In this role you will be able to lead the execution of portfolio activation plans in the country, identify Business' Trends, Growing Opportunities, Supply and Demand plans. Lead the implementation and execution in the country of the business segment strategy collaborating with Portfolio Leaders in Latam, channel structure and Application engineers and localize content and digital resources applicable to Distributors. The Activation Marketer drives and leads complex relationships at all levels and across the organization (portfolio marketers, digital resource centre, global marketers, sourcing, agencies, channel, sales, etc) and support capitalization of sales with the sales structure.

The impact you will make in this role

  • Create content and sales tools to facilitate market´s understanding 

  • Drives Customer First strategies, in order to align and adapt programs to fulfil the needs of customers in specific segments.

  • Work with Channel Specialist from GIC, so they and the reps from their Business Partners receive 3M segments training, in order for them to be able to detect multiple business opportunities with big 3M portfolio to increase sales. Needs to coordinate regional 3M support to give these trainings.

  • Reviews and defines segment product offer with the support of portfolio marketers, in order to assure the portfolio, fulfil customer's needs to gain share.

  • Provides forecast insights by analysing customers consumption of products and win/loss of projects.

  • Has to develop strong internal 3M networking in order to handle inside negotiations and problems resolutions with functional areas like Finance, Marketing, CRC, Demand, BSO, sourcing, sales, and any other areas involved in the day-to-day work. Understanding of end users and distributor's structure and the way that it operates is also a must. 

  • The candidate must be expert in viewing the big picture of the business, and has the ability to detect the pain points, with this information he has the ability to structure process to eliminate issues

  • Able to lead, coordinate and guide direct reports, considering he/she will have an important influence with others.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Business Administration, Engineering or similar.

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of strong professional background in marketing and experience in communication, digital marketing, insights generation, safety or industrial market knowledge is preferred.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: 

  • Marketing experience for packaging market and box sealing tapes, including substrates and application process.

  • Safety and/or industrial market knowledge is preferred.

  • Knowledge of F&B, Pharma, Electronics, e-commerce segments

  • Financial background, negotiation skills, Resilient to frustration and difficult situations.

  • Strong communication, able to develop good networking and interpersonal relationships.

  • Analytical and problem solver. Strong leadership skills and behaviours and decision-making abilities.

  • Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Power Point, etc) and Power BI

  • Intermediate English

Work location: hybrid work in Mexico City. Preferably reside in Puebla, Querétaro, Toluca, or nearby states that allow attendance at the office when required.
