About the role:


The Newsette's creative agency, Newland, is looking for an Account Director. While our company HQ is in New York City, all employees are working remotely until further notice.


What you'll do:


The Account Director will be responsible for successfully leading the day-to-day execution of marketing activations and partnerships with some of the world’s largest and most influential brands. The role requires overseeing all work and process at scale, while also serving as strategic and creative partner to senior clients and stakeholders. In this role, you will work closely with Leadership, Strategy and Creative leads to set the tone and pace of the business, while ensuring the overall health and growth of your accounts.


  • Leading client success across (2-3) agency clients, learning their business needs, working in close partnership with senior clients and ensuring success based on their goals
  • Contributing to the ongoing client strategy and creative campaign strategy, including participating in brainstorms and proposal ideation, deck-building, and pitches
  • Overseeing daily client service across assigned agency accounts, from planning through to execution and reporting
  • Manage team workflow and responsibilities, setting expectations, allocating resources and supporting the team in executing the campaign at each step
  • Ownership of campaign budget, ensuring that we stay within allocated spend, as well as reconciling and organizing budget after execution of deliverables
  • Securing, negotiating and liaising with high-profile celebrity and influencer talent and their representation on campaign deliverables, from outreach to contract stage
  • Document, distill and interpret client feedback to communicate next steps and deliverables to team members in other departments as necessary
  • Establish foundation for project management including ownership of software setup, creation of templates and development of best practices and pull through into agency workflow, outlining team responsibilities for maintaining the system
  • Guide team of Account Managers and Account Coordinators, overseeing their work output, providing feedback and supporting their growth within the agency
  • Motivate the client and agency to deliver the best work possible and foster an environment where everyone feels motivated and supported
  • Problem solve day-to-day account issues as needed


About you:


  • 4+ years of Account Management experience at a creative/digital/ social agency. Experience working at a social agency is highly preferred
  • Social media expert with proven experience planning, executing and optimizing paid media campaigns across Tik Tok, Instagram, Facebook and other paid media channels
  • Experience working directly with clients’ from top-tier national brands on multiple active campaigns with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Track record of success in working with and managing high-profile talent and/or influencers and their representation, ideally in an influencer marketing capacity
  • An entrepreneurial spirit always looking to find ways to grow and add value to the client and the agency
  • A strategic partner who can build strong client relationships based on trust and accountability
  • Excited by developing innovative solutions to complex business problems
