Roving General Manager

Who We Are

With a legacy spanning four decades, Action Property Management has become the premier choice for homeowner’s association management. Founded in 1984, Action began with a single client and a vision to elevate ethical and professional standards in the HOA industry. Our unwavering commitment to integrity, and professionalism coupled with our core values of excellence, innovation, and care for people, continues to define us.  Today, as the largest privately owned HOA management company in the West, we proudly serve over 300 communities across 9 offices. Our success is fueled by a team of nearly 900 dedicated team members who genuinely love what they do and are dedicated to helping homeowners thrive and love where they live.

Are you the type of HOA Manager who thrives on change, fast-paced environments, and making an immediate impact? Do you love the challenge of stepping into new communities, solving problems, and leading teams—but don’t want to be tied down to a single property long-term? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

As a Roving General Manager, you’ll be our go-to leader, stepping in to manage luxury high-rise and portfolio communities when needed. This dynamic role requires the ability to travel 80% or more of the time, sometimes for 30-60-90 days at a time in different cities throughout California. When travel outside your home base is required, we cover housing and travel expenses. Your expertise in HOA management, leadership, and problem-solving will be crucial in maintaining stability, ensuring smooth transitions, and delivering exceptional service to our associations.

What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in onsite HOA Management (Luxury high-rise experience is a plus; apartment rental management does not qualify).
  • CMCA or CCAM certification (or the ability to obtain within six months).
  • A passion for fast-paced, high-impact work with the flexibility to travel across California for extended assignments (30 days to 6 months).
  • A confident and engaging leader who excels in problem-solving, communication, and navigating change.

Why Join Action Property Management?
  • A unique and dynamic career where no two days are the same.
  • A competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
  • Full support for travel and housing when on assignment outside your home base.
  • The opportunity to be part of a leading, high-growth company that values leadership, innovation, and teamwork.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, pet insurance, 401(k) with company match, life and disability support for qualifying team members.
  • Generous paid time off including vacation, sick time, company observed holidays including your birthday holiday.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HOA property management experience with a minimum of 3 years of onsite management experience.
  • Experience with luxury high rise properties is a plus.
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience managing an onsite team.
  • CMCA certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Keen knowledge of budgets and the budgeting process
  • Strong knowledge of audits, reserve study, bidding process, and association governing documents
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to work independently
  • Commitment to following up on all issues in a timely manner
