Job Description

AECOM Hunt is experiencing tremendous growth opportunities in the US Southwest area. To support this expansion, we have an exciting upcoming employment opportunity for a Project Diversity Compliance Officer to support current and upcoming construction projects.

Hiring for this role is expected to start year end 2024 or early 2025. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Community Engagement and Outreach:

  • Develop and implement community engagement strategies to build strong relationships with local communities affected by the company
  • Coordinate and host community meetings, forums, and workshops to communicate Project updates and gather feedback.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between AECOM Hunt, community stakeholders, and local organizations.
  • Address community concerns and issues related to construction activities promptly and effectively.

XBE Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with applicable DBE, MBE and WBE requirements for the Project.
  • Monitor and report on the participation of XBE firms for the Project through internal and external reporting platforms, as required.
  • Collaborate with members of the AECOM Hunt procurement and Project teams to identify and engage qualified XBE contractors and suppliers.

Workforce Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with applicable EEO and Project Workforce goals, and document all Good Faith Efforts to achieve the same, including the Good Faith Efforts of awarded prime contractors and lower-tier subcontractors.
  • Liaise with local unions and with labor and employment groups to identify qualified minority and women tradespeople for work on the Project, and documenting all Good Faith Effort to do so. 

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Community Development, or a related field

  • 2 years of experience in community engagement, diversity management, or a related field within the construction industry.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of DBE, MBE, and WBE requirements and regulations
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing successful community engagement and outreach programs
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with project management software
  • Master’s degree in a related field
  • Certification in Diversity Management or related areas
