Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer (m/f/d) to join our team in Essen, Germany. As a key member of our engineering department, you will lead and manage complex geotechnical projects, providing expert guidance and innovative solutions to challenging soil and foundation issues.

  • Manage and oversee large-scale geotechnical engineering projects from inception to completion
  • Conduct advanced geotechnical analyses, including soil mechanics, foundation design, and slope stability assessments
  • Develop and review geotechnical reports, technical specifications, and design recommendations
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geotechnical considerations into overall project designs
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering their professional development
  • Ensure compliance with local and international geotechnical standards and regulations
  • Participate in business development activities and client meetings to secure new projects
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies in the field of geotechnical engineering

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related field
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent German certification
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a proven track record of managing complex projects
  • Advanced knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, soil mechanics, foundation design, and slope stability analysis
  • Proficiency in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS and GeoStudio
  • Strong skills in AutoCAD and other relevant design software
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Outstanding project management skills, including the ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to produce high-quality technical reports
  • Expertise in local and international geotechnical standards and regulations
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
  • Fluency in English and German
