The Carolina Hurricanes are seeking an experienced Motion Graphics Designer with a passion for sports and creativity to join our content team. The Motion Graphics Designer will serve as a leader in the space of motion graphics and animation for the Carolina Hurricanes and Lenovo Center, responsible for producing engaging and professional motion graphics and animations. This position will operate as the primary motion designer, working as part of the creative services team within the marketing department. This position will work to support various departmental and organizational needs in the form of graphics and animations for videos, web, LED digital boards and other visual communication and storytelling platforms.Job Responsibilities: Produce various motion graphic and animation assets for the Carolina Hurricanes various platforms: digital/social media, broadcast, arena video boards, on-ice projection, etc. Works closely with the creative team to identify dynamic visual storytelling opportunities for usage on various communications platforms. Ability to produce high end creative motion design for media day, opens, in game pumpers, player features and other essential creative needs. Design, create, animate, and integrate 2D & 3D elements. Works closely with entertainment and production departments to support and enhance various informational and entertainment needs in the form of visual and motion creative. Supports corporate partnerships team to produce various assets to help activate and support various sponsored campaigns. Assists in project management and cross collaboration with the design team and various freelancers on art direction and multimedia projects. Experience/Requirements:2+ years of experience in motion graphics design, preferably in sports, entertainment, or a related industry.Knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator and Cinema 4D is required. Knowledge of Adobe Premiere, Daktronics software, Ross Xpression suite, Unreal Engine, Blender and Octane Render a plus. Must have a passion for doing quality work and excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Experience building various forms of animations, including but not limited to, broadcast commercials, in-arena ribbon boards, ice-projection, GIFs, as well as templates for video producers to utilize. Ability to work well with other departments, including marketing, entertainment, corporate sales, ticketing, etc. Must be willing to work flexible hours including but not limited to nights, weekends and holidays.Proficient in all aspects of graphic and video post-production.Able to take direction, be flexible with changing requests/edits/revisions, and meet deadlines. Knowledge of video production workflow and social/digital content a plus. Must pass a criminal background check.
