Job Title: OperatorJob DescriptionThe Bakery Operator is an entry-level training position responsible for running various pieces of equipment in production and packaging. You will report to the Line Supervisor and assist with operating any equipment or machinery associated with production and packaging. You will be trained by a subject matter expert per the work instructions and are expected to run the equipment proficiently. Initially, you will not be proficient with all equipment but will focus on selected machinery with the goal of certification for advancement to higher level Operator. You will follow all specifications per our specification sheets, manage proper weights, settings, packaging, quality, speeds, labels, and ingredients, and alert Management if there are any issues compromising product quality. Safety is paramount, and you will not operate equipment deemed unsafe and will alert Management to any safety-related issues.Responsibilities• Ensure adherence to all safety, GMP, and quality policies and regulations.• Monitor all areas to ensure product quality and compliance with product specifications.• Assist with training and cross-training when necessary.• Provide breaks and lunch rotations to employees as directed.• Continuously improve knowledge of all products and their requirements.• Maintain cleanliness of all areas during and after production runs, ensuring proper placement of equipment, raw materials, and waste.• Monitor finished product quality, focusing on reducing defects and increasing production throughput.• Communicate actively with team members and supervisors to identify and resolve challenges, improving operational efficiencies.• Perform routine safety checks to ensure the workspace is free from potential safety risks and promote a safe workplace environment.Essential Skills• Experience in production, GMP, baking, general labor, picking and packing, warehouse production, manufacturing industry, food handling, and food preparation.• High School Diploma or GED.• Must be 18 or older.• Ability to lift 50lbs continuously throughout the day without assistance.• Ability to push/pull 50lbs continuously throughout the day without assistance.• Ability to stand for 8-12 hours a day.• Willingness to work overtime and weekends if needed.• Basic comprehension of the English language (speak/understand, read/write).Additional Skills & Qualifications• Non-slip (oil/water rated) safety shoes required (no steel toe needed).• Adherence to all PPE/GMP requirements, including no jewelry, no perfumes/cologne, no fake eyelashes, no fake fingernails, no shorts/spandex/sweats.Why Work Here?Our company offers a clear path for career advancement with competitive pay rates. It is a fast-paced environment with pleasant aromas. Be prepared for potential gluten/flour exposure. Our GMP requirements include specific rules regarding jewelry, personal hygiene, and work attire, ensuring safety and quality in the workplace. Non-slip safety footwear, smocks, gloves, hairnets, and beard nets are provided and required.
