Primary duties include making coverage determinations, authoring reservation of rights and denial letters, assigning, directing and controlling investigations, assigning, directing and managing litigation including assignments of counsel, case evaluation and reserve setting, and reporting to the Casualty Claims Manager and appropriate carrier oversight personnel.Essential Duties And Responsibilities• Maintains independent diary system to ensure claim files are up to date, and that required follow-up is taking place;• Investigates and evaluates claims to determine coverage, liability, damages and value;• Communicates with vendors, producers, policy holders, clients and carriers to communicate claim status;• Negotiates settlements with claimants and insured in both litigated and non-litigated files;• Reports to internal management and carrier as applicable, providing updates on litigated claims, serious injuries, and claims over the adjuster’s authorization limits;• Sets and manages indemnity and expense reserves, and ensures that adequate reserve levels are maintained;• Analyzes and reviews invoices for payment;• Provides Producer inquiry assistance;• Creates and maintains reports and worksheets as needed;• Provides training and mentoring to less experienced adjusters;• Travels as necessary to attend mediations, settlement conferences, hearings, and trials;• Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information);• Other duties as assigned.QualificationsEDUCATION / EXPERIENCEBachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experienceSeven (7) or more years of applicable industry experienceAdjuster licensing preferredAIC, CPCU and/or JD preferredSkillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone and listening skillsExcellent customer service skillsExcellent interpersonal and leadership skillsStrong analytical skills and problem solving skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Word, OutlookDiscretion and independent judgment requiredWe are proud to provide comprehensive, high quality employee programs to meet employees’ needs now and in the future, including a very competitive financial package.
