DescriptionAmazon seeks a highly motivated finance professional to play a lead role in Operations Finance supporting the Global Realty (GR) real estate team. GR is responsible for acquisition and management of real estate for the Amazon Operations Network. This is a great opportunity to support GR in a role with high impact and visibility to business-critical processes that will require interactions with Directors and Vice Presidents (VPs) across Operations and Finance.Everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats, and work in a highly collaborative environment that’s more start-up than big company. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are critical in this role. The successful candidate has demonstrated the following abilities: they are a self-starter, have a strong sense of ownership, collaborate with and influence business partners, support thoughtful decision-making in a rapidly-evolving and ambiguous environment, and think long-term.Key job responsibilities• Develop partnerships across Operations and use data to influence a high degree of compliance and controllership with the business• Gather, analyze, and manage quantitative data to drive process improvements and enhance controls across the GR organization• Deliver controllership through risk assessment and self inspection audits on key spend processes• Manage competing priorities to complete both ad-hoc and strategic projects• Seek opportunities to resolve defects and reduce cost-to-serve• Improve, scale, and simplify finance tools across teams and organizations• Communicate financial insights (both written and verbal) in a clear and concise manner. Adapt communication based on intended audience to clearly articulate complex financial considerations.• Promote a positive and collaborative culture.Basic Qualifications• 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related fieldPreferred Qualifications• MBA, or CPA• Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)• Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable resultsAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
