the job:
as the Copy + Editorial Associate, you will support all e-comm copywriting initiatives that build a strong emotional connection with the amika customer while reinforcing brand equity. You will act as a key guardian of the amika brand to ensure consistency of brand voice across all digital consumer touchpoints + assets. You will support the Copy + Editorial team + work cross-functionally to deliver clear, differentiated copy + messaging needs across channels including the blog, email, SMS, loveamika.com + our digital retail channels.
salary: $72,000 - $83,000 + benefits
location: remote (must be based in + have the right to work in the US)
what you'll do:
- Partner with e-comm closely as the lead copywriter for all e-comm needs for both evergreen business + campaign launches, representing the editorial team + working closely with the associate director of editorial to ensure all copy is approved
- Write, review, edit, proof + manage all e-comm copy from inception to execution across Asana, Figma, Slack, etc ensuring copy is approved by all parties, especially as the needs consistently change
- Partner with the Consumer Engagement team to develop copy for paid media needs across all channels
- Manage all copy needs for The Strand blog + partner with the consumer engagement + social team to identify synergies + content opportunities to drive stronger 360 integration across paid, owned + earned touchpoints
- Balance the creative brand voice + business goals to ensure all copy captures amika's creative voice while delivering on business strategy + channel-specific best practices
- Monitor industry trends to ensure we're leading in messaging innovation while remaining relevant
- Partner with e-commerce + digital marketing to A/B test marketing copy + help build understanding around what drives the best results across platforms
- Help to evolve brand voice + copy best practices while working with our e-comm partners to find the most efficient ways of working + creating process where none exists. the right candidate will remain consistently flexible to constant changes
- Support the Editorial team with miscellaneous copy tasks + brainstorms including product names, campaign ideas, etc
must haves:
- 2-3 years experience in beauty as a copywriter, digital copywriting experience preferred
- Collaborative, communicative, and super organized team player who can juggle multiple projects + priorities in a fast-paced environment at once- you can balance long term strategic projects with daily fire drills, while motivating and influencing cross-functional teams without direct responsibility.
- Experience writing longer-form beauty blogs and understanding of SEO + digital search insights as they relate to contend development will be given special consideration
- Extensive understanding of beauty/fashion/lifestyle space. Strong knowledge of hair category ideal, but not required.
- Relevant experience developing copy for a variety of marketing channels including in-store visual merchandising, ecommerce, paid/organic social, and internal communications
- Understanding of digital + social best practices, including current industry trends
- Must possess an unlimited amount patience in a fast-paced environment
- Strict adherence to grammar and style guides
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
