We are looking for a motivated Mechanical Engineer Intern (Summer) to contribute building and testing mechanical components for our robot system.
Collaborate with the engineering team to design and refine mechanical components for humanoid robots
Participate in prototyping and assembly, including hands-on work with 3D printing and machining
Conduct tests and experiments to validate mechanical designs, track performance metrics, and document findings
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve mechanical issues in prototypes or existing systems
Assist in maintaining a safe and organized lab environment, ensuring tools and materials are properly handled and stored
Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Experience
Prior involvement in academic or personal projects that include mechanical design or fabrication
Laboratory or workshop experience (e.g., student clubs, competitions, or coursework projects) is a plus
Technical Skills
Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., OnShape, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor)
Familiarity with rapid prototyping techniques (3D printing, CNC machining)
Understanding of mechanical principles, stress analysis, and material properties
Basic coding or data analysis (e.g., Python)
Basic knowledge of mechanical testing methods (e.g., tensile, fatigue)
Soft Skills
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Effective communication and teamwork, able to convey technical findings clearly
Adaptability and willingness to learn new tools or methods
Nice-to-Haves
Experience with robotics or mechatronic systems
