Job Description

Summary of Position 

The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to internal and external stakeholders in all areas of the Human Resources department.  

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support the operational and administrative aspects of the employment life-cycle, ranging from posting jobs and recruitment support, to onboarding and status changes up, through termination of employment.
  • Manage all onboarding responsibilities for new faculty and staff; provide additional recruitment and onboarding support for student employees during peak hiring times or as needed.
  • Coordinate and assist facilitating bi-weekly new employee and benefits orientations sessions.
  • In collaboration with the HR team, serve as the first point of contact for general questions and concerns.  Triage more complex matters to the appropriate HR team member.
  • Perform simple and complex data entry and reporting in HRIS and other HR databases.
  • Manage confidential filing and archiving systems to ensure legal and policy compliance.  

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the HR team as needed on a variety of tasks, projects and initiatives.
  • May be assigned as a recruiter for entry-level and service positions.
  • Order office supplies and basic troubleshooting/maintenance of HR office equipment.
  • Maintain Human Resources website, job boards and social media accounts.
  • All other duties as apparent or assigned by supervisor(s).

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Typical working environment is an office setting. Sedentary work for long periods of time.
  • This position works in the office Monday - Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.
  • Working environment has frequent interruptions and walk-in traffic.
  • Regular computer and phone use.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Two (2) years of related professional administrative experience, including at least one (1) year of administrative experience working in Human Resources.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with recruitment processes such as candidate screening and participating in the interview process.
  • Previous experience coordinating benefits and payroll functions.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse work environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently with little supervision.

  • Commitment to providing superior customer service.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills and exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
