Project Manager

The Decommissioning Project Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of asset decommissioning, including the disposal or redistribution of assets, materials, and facilities. This role will also involve managing workflows for materials, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and collaborating with IT teams on data archiving and management. The ideal candidate will have experience in project management, asset decommissioning, material handling, and commissioning processes, ensuring the successful execution of projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the decommissioning of assets, facilities, and materials that are no longer required by the organization.
  • Manage the disposal, recycling, or resale of assets and materials, ensuring they are processed in compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Identify saleable items and manage the sale or repurposing process to maximize value.
  • Track the lifecycle of assets and maintain clear documentation of decommissioning activities.
  • Manage the workflow of materials, ensuring proper handling, qualification changes, and GMP compliance.
  • Work with inventory and warehouse teams to ensure materials are tracked, documented, and removed from the warehouse as necessary.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure that materials are managed in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to identify personnel for imaging and archiving of data associated with decommissioned assets and materials.
  • Oversee the physical archiving of materials, ensuring proper storage and removal from the warehouse in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Ensure that all data related to decommissioned assets is archived and stored in compliance with industry regulations and internal data management policies.
  • Lead and manage decommissioning projects from initiation through completion, ensuring all tasks are completed within scope, on time, and within budget.
  • Provide clear direction and oversight for cross-functional teams, ensuring all workflows are integrated and executed seamlessly.
  • Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and adjust project plans as necessary to meet deadlines and objectives.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including status reports, risk assessments, and post-decommissioning reviews.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with a focus on asset decommissioning, material management, and warehouse oversight.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements in decommissioning and material management, particularly in GMP-compliant environments.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with IT, warehouse, and operations teams.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Commissioning Expertise: Strong knowledge and experience in commissioning processes, which will help enhance project execution and ensure proper transitions for decommissioned assets and systems.
  • Proven experience in managing decommissioning projects, asset disposal, and material handling.
  • Strong understanding of GMP compliance and industry regulations as they relate to asset management and material handling.
  • Experience working with IT teams to manage data archiving and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to lead projects with a focus on efficiency, compliance, and risk management.
