Job Description

Hours: 32 - 40 hours per week

Your Role

As a Network Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the management, optimization, and further development of our network infrastructure. You’ll work with advanced Cisco networks and have knowledge of Check Point firewalls. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the continuity and security of our network, which spans multiple European offices and airport retail locations worldwide.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize a complex network architecture with Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls

  • Implement and maintain OSPF and BGP routing

  • Configure and manage firewall clusters (Check Point experience is a plus)

  • Provide support and troubleshoot network issues

  • Contribute to the growth of our Azure network environment

  • Support automation of network configurations using Ansible

Our Infrastructure

Our IT infrastructure is large-scale and complex, yet full of opportunities for innovation and improvement. With a mix of on-premise and cloud technologies, an extensive network, and a rapidly expanding Azure environment, we are constantly working to optimize and modernize our systems. You’ll also be involved in rethinking the network setup at various locations. Despite the size of our environment, we aim for simplification wherever possible—because building a complex infrastructure is easy, but simplifying it is the real challenge.

You’ll be working in a dynamic and challenging environment with:

  • 100 firewalls under central management

  • 250 switches in 45 stacks

  • 50 routers

  • 5 Wireless LAN Controllers and 500 access points

  • A fiber ring between locations

  • A fast-growing Azure network environment

  • 650 servers, primarily Windows

Qualifications

Your Profile

  • Bachelor-level working and thinking (HBO-level)

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer

  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco networks (CCNP Enterprise is a strong plus)

  • Experience with OSPF and BGP routing

  • Experience with Check Point firewalls (CCSE is a plus)

  • Knowledge of firewall clustering

  • Experience with automation tools like Ansible is a plus

  • Proactive, analytical, and strong communication skills
