Graduate Assistant, Alumni and Donor Relations

Summary

The Alumni and Donor Relations Graduate Assistant supports the engagement of Barry University’s 70,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional school alumni in the US and abroad by supporting the volunteer work, educational, career, cultural, and athletics-related events that take place on and away from the Barry campus.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with the Associate Vice President of Alumni and Donor Relations, the Senior Director of Alumni Relations, and the Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship to develop and execute alumni programs, events, and content.

  • Support efforts to increase alumni participation and engagement by contributing to the planning and promotion of signature events, campaigns, and initiatives.

  • Support the overall alumni and donor stewardship effort through relationship-centered outreach, assisting with event planning and execution, preparing personalized acknowledgments, maintaining accurate donor and alumni records, and contributing to initiatives that foster long-term engagement and connection.

  • Manage the alumni email inbox and phone line, providing timely and professional responses while tracking inquiries and engagement to help inform alumni relations efforts.

  • Assist in the management and execution of crowdfunding and event campaigns using the GiveSmart platform, including building and updating event pages, tracking donations, supporting participant engagement, and ensuring a seamless donor experience.

  • Must be a Barry University graduate student with a Bachelor's degree in any field of study.
