Job SummaryJOB DESCRIPTIONThe Operations Specialist is responsible for working collaboratively with other team members to support a variety of strategic initiatives and tax projects that are integral to the vision, mission, and strategy of the consolidated tax practice. The Specialist will participate in the design, planning, and execution of projects, while ensuring alignment of project objectives to business goals.Job Duties• Crafts detailed project plans encompassing key tasks, milestones, and critical path activities to meet tax practice initiatives• Leads the execution of activities by identifying and collaborating with team members to execute operational goals• Sets and reinforces timelines and priorities according to external deadlines and criticality• Monitors project progress, identifying and communicating when additional resources are needed to achieve success• Troubleshoots and proposes resolutions to complex operational problems impacting the tax practice• Interprets applicable policies to make recommendations to more senior leaders• Reviews current processes, solicits feedback from stakeholders, and develops action plan proposals to address improvement opportunities for leadership consideration• Assists in drafting strategic tax communication focused on standardized messaging using a variety of delivery methods• Collaborates with tax practice and business function leaders (i.e., Finance, People & Culture, etc.) to efficiently navigate obstacles encountered during projects• Other duties as requiredSupervisory Responsibilities• N/AEducationQualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:• High school diploma or GED, and five (5) or more years of experience in project management, required, OR• Bachelor’s degree, requiredExperience• Two (2) or more years of project management experience, required• One (1) or more years of experience in creating effective internal and external written communication, preferred• Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining processes, preferred• Experience in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting metrics, preferredLicense/Certification• N/ASoftware• Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required, specifically SharePoint, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word• Experience with Smartsheet and PowerBI, preferredOther Knowledge, Skills & Abilities• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment• Ability to work within a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously• Solid organizational skills with the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details and quality• Ability to adapt communication style to successfully convey messages and objectives to a diverse audience• Mentorship and development of othersIndividual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.National Range: $70,000 to $80,000Maryland Range: $70,000 to $80,000NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $70,000 to $80,000About UsJoin us at BDO, where you will find more than a career, you’ll find a place where your work is impactful, and you are valued for your individuality.
