Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

SALES AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT:

  • Provide technical sales evaluation and support to in-house sales staff and independent representatives.
  • Prepare quotations for blow molding equipment, molds, tooling, and downstream equipment.
  • Review customer documents to develop proposals and cost estimates for products and services.
  • Assist with technical support to Production, Service, Parts, and Engineering Departments.
  • Support sales forecasting and customer training sessions.

APPLICATIONS SUPPORT:

  • Assist with blow molding trials, materials testing, tooling and mold evaluations.
  • Support machine run-offs and final acceptance procedures.
  • Generate accurate documentation and reports for machine evaluations and customer demonstrations.

INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE AND DEVELOPMENT:

  • Establish relationships with accounts, raw material providers, and sub-suppliers in the plastics industry.
  • Stay current with state-of-the-art technologies, competitive activities, and industry trends.
  • Travel to customer locations for field assistance and ongoing sales training.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all applicable information.
  • Control expenditures within authorized limits.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  BS Degree in plastic engineering technology (or related field) from four (4) year college or university.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:  Ability to travel extensively.  Strong technical and plastics background also necessary. Working knowledge of personal computers.  Software proficiencies should include word processing, spreadsheet capabilities, and mainframe experience.  Responsible for performing all work efficiently and in compliance with quality, quantity, and safety standards as established by Bekum.
