Description

Belfast Community Co-op, whose mission is to bring locally sourced, reasonably priced, organic and natural products to all, is looking for a Front End Floor Manager to join our team!


Starting at $18.48 hourly, this is a Full Time position*, focusing on afternoon and closing shifts.


Our Front End Floor Managers (FMs), are the on-shift leads of the Front End Department. Floor Managers are responsible for the smooth function of the Front End department during a shift, opening or closing the store as scheduled. The ideal candidate would be customer service focused, solution-oriented, and an effective leader.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensures the smooth functioning of the Front End Department through the shift
  • Trains others in department functions, and participates in creating and updating written and visual content department use
  • Acts as a part of the Front End team to uphold safety, customer service, and asset protection standard

*Minimum weekly hours for all Floor Manager positions is 30+ hours weekly, with a minimum of four shifts and include one or more weekend days.


GENERAL EXPECTATIONS FOR ALL WORKERS

  • Provides exceptional customer service to internal & external customers, both in person & via phone:
  • Responds promptly and honestly to customer inquiries
  • Greets customers with a smile and friendly demeanor
  • Communicates respectfully
  • Wears any required uniform (nametag, apron, chef coat, etc.) so as to be easily identifiable to customers and able to work safely (hair covering, closed toed shoes, etc.)
  • Asks for help from co-workers and provides help to customers and co-workers as needed.
  • Works efficiently and safely
  • Takes initiative and works as a part of a team
  • Approaches work with a positive attitude
  • Collaborates with others to find solutions and accepts solutions once determined
  • Continues to learn and develop knowledge as it relates to the position, co-op, and industry
  • Demonstrates regular and dependable attendance
  • Follows department procedures and SOPs

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS (knowledge, skills, and abilities)

Minimum:

  • Experience handling cash
  • Experience using a Point of Sale (POS) system
  • Demonstrated ability to perform customer service in person and over the phone
  • Problem-solving skills, including assessing complex situations, determining action steps, and communicating evolving plans to a varied audience
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive tasks

Preferred:

  • Supervisory experience in a retail setting
  • Experience with Google Suite, including Docs, Gmail, and Sheets
  • Experience with natural foods co-ops

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. This position requires frequent interaction with the public, in person and over the telephone.
