The Lecturer contract carries a four-course teaching load in a 6-month period beginning January 1, 2024 and ending June 30, 2024.
An accepted applicant will also be considered for a Lecturer position for the period beginning July 1, 2024 and ending June 30, 2025.
Classes sizes vary and are generally considered small, with plenty of opportunity to interact with the students.

Bentley’s Law and Taxation Department is proud to have attorneys who specialize in Intellectual Property, Criminal Law, Contract Law, Environmental Law, Corporate Tax Law, State and Local Taxation as well as many others law related areas.
The primary function of the position will be to teach Tax courses, as well as initially the University’s required core course, Business Law, with opportunities to teach other courses as the department’s needs dictate.
Our tax courses rage from Multi-Jurisdictional Tax, Federal Taxation, Mergers and acquisitions and Corporate tax just to name a few.
The Law and Taxation Department is looking for applicants who are also interested in working with students outside the classroom in a variety of capacities (e.
g., advising students, engaging outside speakers, advising student organizations, working with service learning and career services, or other relevant activities).

Minimum Qualifications :
Candidates must have achieved a Juris Doctorate (JD) or a Master of Laws (LLM in Taxation) within the prior four years or be considered scholarly active (published 5 articles in the prior four years in peer-reviewed journals).
A well-qualified applicant will have experience teaching tax or practicing tax law with a public accounting firm, the government, or a law firm.
A well-qualified applicant must also demonstrate evidence of or strong promise of teaching excellence. This can be established by full-time or adjunct teaching at an accredited college or university.
It can also be indicated by strong public speaking and / or client relations skills, evidence of patience and effectiveness working with Generation Z, and / or demonstrated skill at explaining legal concepts to non-lawyers.
The successful applicant will be expected to be an engaged participant in the Law and Taxation Department and in the Bentley community.
Must be familiar with Brightspace and Zoom or have a willingness to learn. Bentley University makes training available for both platforms.
