Marketing Assistant

BKF is seeking a Marketing Assistant to join our growing Marketing & Business Development team. The location of this position is based out of our Walnut Creek office. BKF is a civil engineering and surveying firm that leverages 110 years of experience to design some of the most iconic projects across the Western United States. With 16 offices and 450 staff, BKF has a unique team environment that fosters collaboration and innovation.

 

As an integral part of the team, you'll have the opportunity to assist in updating our CRM data, the development of proposals and qualification packages, tracking opportunities, and collaborating with the other Marketing team members. You’ll also be assisting the Business Development team with coordinating tasks with various professional organizations and other industry consultants. This person will be an eager, fast learner with a positive attitude who takes feedback well. Communication and attention to detail are some of the key qualities we are looking for in a candidate. Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Business Development & Marketing team members to support proposal efforts
  • Gather, format, and maintain accurate firm marketing collateral
  • Write, edit, and produce statements of qualifications, proposals, presentations and other marketing materials, and other tasks, as assigned
  • Coordinate event attendance and other tasks, as needed
  • Prepare, assemble, and coordinate delivery of responses to requests for proposals and qualifications
  • Track upcoming and outgoing proposals and download RFP/RFQs
  • Assist in the development of award submittals, database maintenance, and public relations, as needed
  • Maintain marketing files in Deltek, Hubspot, InDesign, Gov Spend, and Folder Directories
  • Assist with special projects as needed 
  • Travel between BKF offices and other off-site locations may be required.

 

An ideal candidate has: 

  • 1-4 years of applicable marketing/administrative experience
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required
  • Adobe Creative Suite, Deltek, and Hubspot knowledge desired
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain effective interpersonal relationships
  • Able to work well under pressure and adapt to frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a synergistic team environment
  • Proactive, resourceful, and can easily multi-task against deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Exceptional spelling and grammar skills

Pay

The typical base salary range for this position is $47,000 - $65,000, annualized depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. This is an hourly position paid biweekly.

Physical Demands

 Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 20 pounds with accommodations.

Work Conditions:

Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
