Job Title: Associate – Fund Distributor Payments

Job Duties: Work with partners (Contracting, Sales, Finance, Fund Accounting, Accounts Payable, Audit) to process third party payments while ensuring contractual terms are properly enforced and audit requirements are satisfied. Maintain, analyze, and reconcile retail and liquidity intermediary and invoicing data within core systems. Research information across a variety of data sources from Transfer Agents, trading partners and other systems. Ensure a robust control environment exists both at the fund service providers and internally to ensure risk of error is mitigated. Create and maintain control reports to monitor status of fees and provide suggestions to improve processes. Reconcile differences between BlackRock and other data sources using Excel and/or MS Access. Drive increased efficiency and innovation through continuous review of operating procedures and planning / evaluating technology improvements. Participate in special data projects as they arise, including large projects to reconcile data between systems or the future merging of systems. Streamline processes using technologies like SQL, Python, and Excel.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; and 24 months experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Requires 24 months of experience involving the following: 1. Supporting payment operations for mutual funds, financial intermediary and transfer agency structures; 2. Interpreting complex legal and financial contracts/agreements in support of operational structures; 3. Working with compliance departments to ensure that payment transactions are processed according to regulatory requirements and Fund compliance; 4. SQL, Python or Power BI - Ability to understand, create and utilize data within relational databases, read coding language to troubleshoot errors and write code to execute on desired tasks; 5. Advanced Excel – Prior experience creating and utilizing complex formulas, pivot tables and macros with an understanding of the most efficient ways to apply these functions.
