Communications Intern

Summary: This position works within a collaborative team environment, supporting the Communications and Marketing teams. This position will execute programs, events, and project details that deliver the best customer and employee experience. The intern will assist with the day-to-day activities within the communications and marketing teams. You will create, write, edit, and coordinate internal communication messages, themes, and timeline plans to advance corporate culture, initiatives, programs, and events at Blount Fine Foods. Within the marketing team, you will gain exposure to the core tactics to market its brands and licensed brands. The intern will apply quantitative and qualitative techniques to evaluate and assess marketing opportunities. On most days, you will juggle numerous tasks within different project scopes and will re-prioritize your tasks several times per day. Occasionally, you will assist in other areas of the company- primarily the culture and engagement team. This position requires a high-energy, positive, can-do attitude with exceptional organizational and communication skills. In the absence of this position, the work will be divided amongst the team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Regulate departmental communication to/for cultural priorities. 
  • Maintain corporate communication templates and standards keeping them up to date and easily accessible. 
  • Editing and copywriting for all internal and external communications. 
  • Accountable for managing internal communication vehicles (on hold messaging, screens, website & portals).
  • Responsible for daily briefings and calendar management, arranging meetings and follow-up correspondence. 
  • Assists with set up, supervision and execution of employee events, touchpoints, projects, and experiences.  
  • Research and purchase items necessary for events/touchpoints. 
  • May manage travel arrangements and process expense reports.
  • Records, transcribes, and distributes meeting minutes as requested.
  • Responsible for copying/collating/distributing/scanning/auditing internal printed media.
  • Coordinate Team Meetings; prepare and edit presentations. 
  • Perform other tasks as requested.
