Creator & Influencer Marketing Specialist

About Darkroom

We're building the future of advertising and are looking for the minds to help us do it.

Darkroom is a progressive omnichannel growth marketing agency focused on retail, e-commerce, and consumer businesses. We have been recognized as one of the fastest growing private companies in America by Inc. 5000 (2023), a top 1% digital advertiser by Varos (2023), and our founders were named Forbes 30 Under 30 recipients for Marketing and Advertising North America (2024).

Our Growth Marketing Department is looking for a Creator Associate to join our Performance Marketing Team. The right candidate should have 3+ years of experience as well as feel comfortable in a strategic, tactical, and executional role when it comes to planning and deploying 360-degree UGC and influencer marketing campaigns. We utilize UGC and Influencer content to drive performance and conversions and repurpose this content on multiple channels. Multi-campaign project management and/or agency experience is a must.

About the Role:

The Creator Associate will be contributing to content creator & influencer marketing campaign management across a diverse agency client roster. This position will support the Creator Marketing Manager in executing tasks through sourcing UGC and influencer content — as well as all creator-facing outreach, negotiations, communication, creative brief building, and deliverable management. This person will be an expert in all platforms primarily TikTok and Instagram, Pinterest and Youtube to create initiatives in an effort to build, maintain and grow a client’s reputation, credibility and brand awareness.

This is a fully remote role and is open to candidates based in Brazil and South Africa. This role supports teams working in US Eastern Standard/Daylight Time and should be flexible to support and work in these times.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support and implement one-time and/or recurring campaigns — supporting everything from content creator and influencer discovery to outreach, negotiation, and creative deliverable management.

  • Ideate innovative strategies and look for trends on social and digital platforms, such as TikTok, Instagram, and other social channels.

  • Source, onboard, negotiate and manage content creator and influencer relationships & campaign deliverables.

  • Build and distribute creator and influencer-facing creative briefs and contracts, and review content to ensure it meets stakeholder expectations.

  • Use best practices to utilize influencer content to drive performance, conversions, and boosted reach through the use of paid media ad spend (whitelisting, repurposing content on brand’s accounts, and boosted posts).

  • Manage clients’ budgets, and allocate spending across different channel strategies to meet and fulfill a full-funnel strategy.

  • Balance strategy work with execution tasks such as talent seeding, negotiations, projections, tracking, and attribution.

  • Actively work with our clients in determining influencer opportunities that align with their brand strategy for future months and quarters.

  • Collaborate with Darkroom’s Performance Marketing teams to learn what content performs best in advertisements, make whitelisting recommendations, and create a feedback loop for future campaign improvements.

  • Work cross-departmentally to analyze social media/content marketing data and build reporting decks/presentations to client stakeholders and assess performance, areas for scale, and effectiveness against internal KPIs.

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in influencer marketing management (not including internships)

  • Proven track record of end-to-end creator and influencer campaign management (strategy development, influencer discovery, outreach, rate negotiations, campaign reporting, and analysis).

  • Understanding of how UGC and influencer content can drive conversions, through organic, paid, and boosted reach.

  • Confident communication skills with experience in influencer/talent/creator communication, relationship-building & negotiation skills.

  • Strong project management skills: Capable of managing multiple creator and influencer campaigns across a variety of clients at one time while effectively meeting deadlines.

  • Experience with discovery/automation platforms used to source, evaluate, and manage influencer relationships (Aspire, Grin etc.)

  • TikTok campaign ideation, creative planning, and analysis are a must.

  • Proven ability to work productively in autonomous and team settings alike.

  • Experience using data and metrics to measure impact, drive actionable results, and determine areas of opportunity and improvement.

  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills with experience maintaining creator and influencer contacts/networks.

  • Someone who thrives in a startup environment where responsibilities and projects may shift at a moment’s notice.

  • A creative mind who can bring innovative, consumer mindset-oriented ideas to the table for growing brand presence and awareness.

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent verbal, written, and presentation-oriented communication skills.
