Entry Level Supply Chain Specialist

Boeing Global Services is seeking an Entry Level Supply Chain Specialist to join the Boeing C-17 Field Supply Chain team in Joint Base Charleston, SC. This position will focus on supporting the BGS Supply Chain. This person will be responsible for the daily activities of the on-site Boeing warehouse functions supporting the C17 program. Required to process repair induction documents for aircraft parts and equipment.  They will also be responsible for data entry into automated systems to ensure parts availability.  This position requires the ability to operate and maintain material handling equipment, perform shipping and receiving operations, hazardous material shipping, traffic management operations, export control, and packaging and crating.  Coordinate daily tasks with Lead to align priorities for smooth operation of workloads.  Applicant will work according to established Boeing and Occupational Safety and Health Agency (OSHA) requirements for warehousing operations.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Joint Base Charleston, SC.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is require​d.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Be proficient in the operation of mechanized and manual materials handling equipment, hand tools and other equipment related to materials storage, control and transportation

  • Ability to observe, count, and maintain stock levels in order to match names, codes, numbers, or sizes of items with lists on which these items are shown

  • Ability to recognize poor or unacceptable quality of parts prior to shipment

  • Coordinate with various departments to expedite and complete movement of material and parts to required locations

  • Assist in the movement of assets and components through the repair cycle

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working both independently and in team environments.

  • Supply chain and inventory management experience.

  • Shipping and receiving experience.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing, warehouse, shipping or customer service environment.

  • Must be capable of lifting 30 pounds on a frequent basis.

  • Ability to travel 10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):

  • Experience working with various material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks and cranes.

  • Experience with managing C-17 Repair of Repairable and C-17 Spares.

  • Bachelor's Degree

Typical Education/Experience: 

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. 4 years' related work experience).

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
