We are looking for an experienced DC Supervisor to join our team in leading, inspiring, and motivating employees within our distribution center. As a DC Supervisor at Brooks, you will supervise a team who performs essential functions within the Distribution Center that achieves our goal of providing world-class customer service.   People management responsibilities include training, planning, assigning daily work, coaching, mentoring, delivering performance reviews, and resolving problems.  You’ll be responsible for creating a work environment where all employees feel appreciated for their efforts and will act as a role model that lives and breathes Brooks values!


Responsibilities
  • Supervise and assist in daily warehouse activities related to inbound and outbound operations
  • Partner with the DC Operations Planner to ensure the department’s staffing levels meet the expected volume, while also identifying changes in customer behavior that drive changing labor needs
  • Work closely with all DC Supervisors to schedule resources as that support the needs of the growing business
  • Provide cross-training to staff to give the DC flexibility to support other departments when needed
  • Track and monitor department KPIs; develop action plans for below standard performance and/or service
  • Work with the DC Management team to resolve discrepancies and maintain FTZ compliance
  • Spends most of work day on DC floor providing visible leadership and drives a motivated, positive, productive work force to ensure safety and quality standards are met and exceeded
  • Act as subject matter expert for Softeon (WMS) and provide additional training when necessary
  • Spearhead and implement process improvements within the department
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and deliver performance feedback in a timely manner
  • Counsel employees to ensure behaviors model Brooks values and actively works to creative a collaborative, positive working environment where employees can learn and grow
  • Write and deliver annual performance reviews
  • Ensure efficient, effective and safe operations at all times
  • Special projects as needed.


Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, required; Associate’s degree or equivalent experience, preferred
  • 5+ years of experience working in a fast-paced warehouse, required
  • 2+ years supervisory experience in a distribution setting or related industry, required
  • Experience working in a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ), preferred
  • Experience with WMS systems (Softeon, Manhattan, Red Prairie, etc.) and RF barcode scanners, required
  • Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and internet proficiency, required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to deal with adverse situations positively and professionally
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that inspire and build trust resulting in effective working relationships across the company
  • Proven ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to inspire and guide your staff to get the job done by bringing out the best in others
  • Ability to anticipate how a decision made can affect our customers, our partners, our products or other departments’ operations and/or morale
  • Demonstration of innovation and initiative – always looking at improving our products and processes while also displaying a willingness to dive into the details and help wherever necessary
  • Keen attention to detail in planning, organization and execution of tasks
  • Forklift experience, preferred
  • Proven history of maintaining a good attendance record
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time – up to 8 hours/day
  • Ability to lift 30lbs frequently and 50lbs on occasion, required
  • Approach employee growth, development, and employee relations with a DE&I lens.
