Senior Platform Engineer

Chargezoom is a rapidly growing startup based in Salt Lake City, UT that is transforming the B2B digital payments industry. We are seeking an experienced platform/infrastructure engineer to help us build out our next generation infrastructure platform. Our infrastructure platform will be the basis for Chargezoom's growth strategy as we transform the B2B payments industry.


In this role you will play an integral role in building out Chargezoom's next generation infrastructure platform that will facilitate rapid value creation, enhance developer productivity, and provide a secure platform to reliably deliver value to our customers. You will be working with the latest in infrastructure technologies related to build engineering, infrastructure orchestration, reliability, security, and compliance.


You will be a part of a tight knit group of engineers who have a passion for building robust and reliable software systems. In this role, you will work closely with the platform architect and other team members to understand the overall vision, build out the platform engineering roadmap, and execute that vision with your technical experience and passion for doing things the right way the first time.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement technical solutions that will help Chargezoom achieve our immediate goals while maintaining optionality for future • business requirements,

• Automate infrastructure provisioning across our cloud footprint using Terragrunt and Terraform,

• Build, maintain, and support our Kubernetes infrastructure,

• Implement CI/CD pipelines to optimize developer workflows and shorten time to delivery,

• Collaborate with engineering teams to build systems that allow them to rapidly deploy new services, iterate on new features, and monitor system reliability,

• Optimize performance, reliability, and cost of our infrastructure footprint,

• Support existing infrastructure while building out new capabilities.


Required Skills

• Experience working in an environment with a distributed microservices architecture,

• Experience working with modern relational databases like MySQL or Postgres,

• Excellent software engineering skills in at least one programming language like Python, PHP, Ruby, Go, .NET etc.,

• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms and architectural patterns (experience with Google Cloud Platform is a plus),

• Experience building and maintaining Kubernetes clusters using managed services like GKE or EKS,

• Excellent communication skills,

• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Bitbucket pipelines, ArgoCD, and/or Github,

• Strong conceptual understanding of networking and the OSI model,

• Ability to contribute in different technical domains as needed to achieve business goals.


Preferred Qualifications

• 5 - 7 years cloud infrastructure experience, especially infrastructure automation with tools like Terraform, Terragrunt, and Ansible,

• 3 - 5 years of experience writing software applications in an enterprise setting,

• Experience with PHP and PHP frameworks like Laravel or CodeIgniter.
