We are setting the norms for compliance processes at the largest institutions in the world. Our client base includes firms with a combined $17 Trillion in assets under management, and growing quickly.

Our Software Engineers came from Palantir, Google, Meta, AWS, Harvard, Stanford, and MIT. Our Legal Engineers are from Harvard Law, Stanford Law, Yale Law, Sullivan & Cromwell, Simpson Thacher, Davis Polk, Greenberg Traurig, the SEC, the Marines, and FINRA.

We have raised $85 million over the past 18 months from leading VCs and global institutions, including Vanguard, Blackstone, Bain Capital, Coatue, New York Life, Citi, and TIAA.

The Product Engineer at Norm is a full-stack engineering role focused on creating our core product. Part engineering and part product, this role is ideal for high-autonomy engineers who are interested in the “who,” “what” and “why” of what they’re building just as much as the “how.” You will be in charge of the end-to-end product development process for the features that you build, starting from ideation all the way through to building and shipping code. You will work closely with customers to understand their needs, gather feedback and ultimately build solutions that work for them and push the product forward as a whole. Specifically you will:

- Design and implement an AI-driven product for our customers.

- Keep up to date with the latest developments in AI, including emerging interface designs and frameworks that open up new possibilities for what we could build for our customers.

- Implement features across the stack – you will be expected to jump into any part of the stack to ship your features. Usually that just means frontend and backend changes, but occasionally you may need to touch our core platform and infrastructure as well.

- Regularly interact with customers to understand their needs, gather feedback on the product and solve issues they face.

- Bring a strong sense of autonomy and ownership for customer outcomes – you don't just build new features, you holistically think about customer problems and how we can the best possible product to solve them.

Skills & Experience - Core

- Bachelors or Masters in computer science or an equivalent field, or equivalent practical experience.

- 4+ years experience writing software in a production environment.

- Experience with React/TypeScript and Next.Js

- Experience writing Python-based backend APIs, including working with libraries such as FastAPI.

Interest or experience in working with complex AI-driven UIs, (i.e. streamed outputs, dynamic agentic site navigation).

- Excited to work on product and work/iterate directly with customers.

- Experience working in an early stage startup and handling highly ambiguous requirements and situations.

Skills & Experience - Pluses

- Interest or experience building for enterprise customers.

- Interest or experience with application security.

- Interest or experience in working with PDFs or file-driven frontends
