About the role

Please note this is a 12-month FTC

We are looking for a talented Lead/Senior Packaging Designer to join our highly productive in-house team. You’ll have a minimum of 6-8 years experience in the beauty industry, and significant exposure to branding, primary and secondary packaging, and print collateral. You will be a conceptual designer with a great eye for typography and a thorough understanding of Adobe CC Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. Experience in 2D rendering is a must, 3D rendering is a plus! You should also be a confident illustrator who can sketch ideas and translate drawings into packaging design. You will be able to interpret briefs, be extremely organised and manage your own projects from conception through to completion.  

You will help to develop creative concepts and design ideation for primary and secondary packaging briefs, as well as the delivery of technical artworks. You will be an expert in packaging and print and production, and be confident in presenting your ideas, whilst keeping up-to-date with current beauty and fashion trends.

As a Senior Packaging Designer (2D) you will

  • Design ideation and concept development of all projects 
  • Manage own projects conception through to completion 
  • Present design evolution and ideation of projects to Director of Design 
  • Collaborate and communicate directly with cross-functional NPD, Packaging Development, Copy and Marketing teams 
  • Communicate needs and production requirements to Senior Creative Artworker and Packaging Manager - Continue developing design and strategic skills
  • Participate in weekly design and cross-functional meetings  
  • Review relevant colour/design-sensitive components of packaging  
  • Participate in 1-1 meetings and keep manager up to date  
  • Be a reliable, responsible member of the team  
  • Set a good example to peers and mentor junior team members

About you

  • BA in graphic design of the Arts from a reputable design school and 6-8 years experience in the graphic design field 
  • Computer skills: Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign are essential. 3D skills are a huge plus 
  • Experienced and highly creative designer 
  • Excellent typography/design and illustration skills 
  • Good communication and presentation skills
