Product Manager, Product 💛

Life is better when you’re with friends.

Our product studio was founded on this belief. Each day we get to wake up and invent new products that help us deepen friendships and make new ones – products we want to use with our friends. We are backed by a16z and dozens of the best angel investors in the world, and we have years of runway, which allows us to stay heads down and aim big.Our first product, Clubhouse, has become a home for millions of people around the world – who use it to meet new friends, have fun and join amazing conversations throughout the day. We expect that our next products will use AI to bring friends together in ways never before possible.

If you are a talented builder who’s interested in joining us, we’d love to talk.

The Role

We’re looking for an ambitious Product Manager to work alongside our CEO in our new app studio – to prototype zero-to-one consumer apps and bring them to the world. If you think you want to start a company one day and are interested in consumer apps, this role will help you get there quickly.

Who you are
  • You are a structured thinker. Regardless of your PM experience, you are a structured thinker and communicator. You are fast with numbers and back-of-the-envelope thinking. You know how to prioritize things and to communicate concisely to arrive at the truth.
  • You are a strong product thinker. You have opinions and products that you love. You’re able to think deeply about user needs – both functional and emotional – and craft experiences that solve those needs.
  • You move quickly and ship. Here, we ship to end users twice a week and aim to include meaningful improvements in every release. You are no different. You scope things tightly, sequence them properly, focus on the most impactful things, and hit your deadlines. When you’re involved, product teams move significantly more quickly.
  • You take pride in what you do. You care deeply about your work and take pride in your craft. If something seems off, you ensure it gets fixed. You’re proactive and people know they can count on you to get things done.
  • You bias towards action. You assign action items to yourself, take pride in unblocking people, and goal yourself on outputs rather than inputs. You prefer to avoid unnecessary meetings and value efficiency.
  • You’re scrappy and entrepreneurial. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are comfortable with not knowing the answer to something. You are willing to roll up your sleeves no matter what the challenge is.
  • You are a team player. You are low ego. You are truth seeking. You don’t care whose idea it was, and you welcome the learning that comes with being wrong.

What you will do
  • You’ll work alongside the CEO to build entirely new apps and business lines. Here, you will not be one in a sea of big tech or SaaS PMs, working to optimize a tiny metric in your corner of an app. Here, you will drive the entire strategy, craft the narrative that explains your vision to the team, and build a sequenced, app-wide roadmap to bring your vision to the world.
  • You’ll bring new ideas to the table. Yes you will ship, but you will also carve out large blocks of time for creative work and ideation – to iterate on existing prototypes and create entirely new ones.
  • You’ll grow and improve rapidly. At Clubhouse you’ll be working with an incredible team, who love to learn from and teach each other. On the product team, you’ll work with our founders, designers, engineers, data scientists, and marketing to build amazing experiences that help the community grow.  You’ll find yourself stretching to new areas, immersed in feedback, challenged by your teammates, and growing your skills on a daily basis.
  • You’ll be an owner. We believe in hiring people and giving them as much responsibility as they can handle. Whether it’s understanding how people use our product with data, unblocking the team to move twice as fast as they do today, or crafting amazing product experiences, we’ll make sure you are always pushing yourself to new levels.
  • You’ll create something deeply meaningful for the world. Social products allow people to connect in ways that were never before possible. When the telephone was invented, it suddenly allowed people to speak with others across the world. Thanks to FaceTime, grandparents everywhere can now watch their grandchildren grow up. Here, you’ll be pushing the frontiers of AI to figure out what platforms come next — to create new relationships, build empathy across cultures, entertain people, and help people develop ideas that change the course of their lives.

What you can expect

Our philosophy is to hire the best people and to do everything we can to invest deeply in their development.

As a member of our team, you can choose to work in person – at a beautiful, creative HQ in San Francisco – or fully remote. You can expect competitive base pay (currently between $170,000 and $235,000 for this role, dependent upon experience), meaningful ownership in the company, great benefits, and constant advancement opportunities. More importantly, we will invest deeply in your development and work every day to ensure it is the best professional experience of your life.

As an early team member at Clubhouse you will be a critical voice and have significant influence over the direction of the company. We will compensate you well, invest deeply in your development, and ensure this is the single best work experience of your life.

Our users come from all walks of life, and so do we. We hire great people from a wide variety of backgrounds. Our company is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
