Overview:The role of the Executive Director of Facility Compliance involves overseeing and providing guidance on operational, financial, programmatic, and personnel functions within Cone Health facilities, which encompass hospitals, cancer centers, hospital-based clinics, and ancillary services.The scope of tasks and obligations is wide-ranging and diverse, with the primary role involving the supervision of daily activities, financial planning, budget management, and oversight of human resources at the Cone Health facility to ensure organizational compliance. Moreover, the incumbent is tasked with supervising risk evaluation, identifying underlying causes of issues, evaluating performance indicators, providing assistance in process development, and implementing technological solutions.The Executive Director is responsible for reviewing and evaluating the risks linked to various business procedures, including facility coding and billing, adherence to the code of conduct, managing vendor relationships, addressing conflicts of interest, compliance with relevant regulations, and internal policies. This position requires close cooperation with different parties involved and overseeing compliance efforts across all staff levels in the Cone Health organization. The Executive Director of Facility Compliance directly reports to Cone Health's Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer.This is a hybrid role requiring the leader to be onsite on a weekly baisResponsibilities:Compliance Program DutiesUpholds and executes an extensive facility conformity initiative that guarantees adherence to federal and state billing regulations, as well as guidelines from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Inspector General (OIG) for Compliance Program Guidance.Works together with essential management personnel, departments, and committees to guarantee adherence to relevant laws and regulations, aligning with Cone Health's compliance initiative.Works together with Legal Services, the Vice President, and the Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer to ensure accurate reporting of violations to enforcement agencies when necessary.Guarantees that systems and protocols are established to uphold a uniform facility compliance program and enforce penalties for noncompliance with policies and procedures, collaborating with Human Resources and Administration departments when necessary.Oversees HelpLine documentation and ensures timely investigation and resolution of reported issues.Makes sure that the tasks in the work plan are carried out correctly and on schedule, and that any necessary Corrective Action Plans (CAP's) are put into effect, monitored, and resolved promptly.Reports on the progress of work plan activities to the Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer, relevant leaders, and the appropriate compliance committee.Functions as an impartial evaluator to verify that the organization is adequately assessing, looking into, and addressing compliance matters.Takes charge of resolving non-compliant matters and ensuring follow-up on corrective actions. Any non-compliant problems will be directed to the relevant compliance team for resolution.Works together with relevant authorities during visits from regulatory bodies, when needed, to help gather data and guarantee the thorough and precise recording of the events before reporting everything to the compliance department.Organizes and leads regular gatherings with facility personnel to boost awareness, tackle concerns, exchange information for optimizing a functional compliance scheme, and nurture the development of a culture rooted in integrity.Carries out the yearly evaluation of risks and devising work plans alongside department heads.Initiates, supports, and directs initial planning phases and sets a course for audits and investigations.Supervises and manages the implementation of policies and training initiatives to ensure compliance with facility regulations.Accountable for keeping leaders and staff informed about updates in regulations, policies, guidance, or other relevant areas.Overseeing projects, meeting established deadlines, and effectively managing workflow and task prioritization.Supervises employees to execute the necessary tasks of the role proficiently and productively, following relevant professional guidelines.Scans through industry, trade, and regulatory journals to stay updated on any alterations in regulations, policies, or enforcement actions, and manages compliance and audit tasks throughout Cone Health.Executes additional responsibilities and oversees supplementary tasks associated with the job outline provided.Qualifications:EDUCATION:Required:• Master's degree in business/health care related fieldPreferred:• CPA or JD preferredEXPERIENCE:Required:• Minimum 7 years demonstrated experience leading health care regulatory and compliance functionsPreferred:• Has held compliance leadership role in a mid-sized to large or complex health care setting.
