Job Title: Procurement ManagerFLSA Status: ExemptSummary:The Procurement Manager is responsible for managing the sourcing and procurement processes with the goals of optimizing costs, ensuring timely acquisition of required goods and services, and evaluating the quality of both goods and vendors. This position also oversees purchasing and inventory controls, with a focus on managing inventory efficiently and effectively.The primary responsibilities include procurement of parts and equipment for service repairs of vehicles and equipment, as well as direct management of the parts department. This role will ultimately include oversight for most purchasing within the organization, including services.The company has embraced continuous process improvement (CPI), and the Procurement Manager will play a pivotal role in driving success and growth. The manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, define strategies, and implement best practices in procurement and inventory management.General Duties:\tSupervise parts department employees.\tCollaborate with CFO to ensure internal procedures and controls are documented.\tEstablish and achieve cost reduction goals while ensuring accountable resource management.\tDevelop documentation for processes, procedures, and policies across operational areas.\tStay current with procurement trends through education, networking, and association involvement.\tCreate and maintain reports and KPIs for management.Procurement Objectives:\tIssue and verify purchase orders, amounts, and terms.\tImplement independent receipt of goods processes.\tEnsure purchases meet internal, customer, and regulatory requirements.\tManage the RFQ process for strategic purchases.\tNegotiate terms and conditions for goods and services.\tForecast purchase requirements and utilize automated reordering systems.\tConduct cost analyses and set improvement benchmarks.\tDevelop risk management strategies for product shortages and contracts.Vendor Management Objectives:\tAdminister vendor qualification and evaluation processes.\tMaintain an up-to-date vendor database.\tEnsure no conflicts of interest with vendors.\tManage multiple vendor relationships and resolve disputes.Inventory Control Objectives:\tDevelop inventory usage tracking reports and distribute them to managers.\tMeasure inventory turnover and optimize inventory levels.\tImplement just-in-time purchasing practices where feasible.\tManage and evaluate inventory controls, training staff in best practices.\tOversee independent and full physical inventory counts.\tEnsure adequate security measures for inventory assets.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:\tLead planning, execution, and delivery of business system projects.\tDevelop an in-depth understanding of business systems, particularly ERP systems.\tProvide hands-on support throughout project lifecycles and manage external vendors.\tAssign resources to maximize project deliverables and delegate tasks effectively.\tResolve conflicts, motivate teams, and communicate progress with stakeholders.\tPerform quality control and establish processes for managing project scope, standards, and risks.Required Skills and Qualifications:\tBachelor's degree in business, purchasing management, supply chain management, or related field.\tSeven or more years of related experience.\tProficiency in contract creation and negotiation.\tStrong ERP system knowledge, preferably Microsoft Dynamics NAV.\tProven ability to manage vendor relationships and evaluate performance.\tBilingual communication skills (Spanish and English).Desired Qualifications:\tExperience in the agricultural industry, preferably in harvesting or farm labor contracting.\tBackground in purchasing automotive and equipment parts and inventory.Physical Requirements:\tPeriodic travel between the Yuma, AZ and Salinas, CA offices.\tEntering data by touch requires the ability to hear computer alarms for errors.\tCommunication via phone and radio.\tAbility to lift up to 60 pounds and perform other physical tasks as needed.\tProficiency with computers and office equipment.\tAbility to work outdoors as required.
