Researcher/Associate Consultant m/w/d

We are looking for a dynamic professional to be part of a team conducting corporate intelligence across Europe, with a special focus on Central and Eastern Europe. You will be a critical thinker with good written and communication skills, with an interest in business transactions and operations. We are looking for an inquisitive individual keen to investigate, evaluate and interpret both open source and human intelligence information in the context of due diligence and strategic corporate intelligence. You will be a proactive team player, able to maintain a positive attitude under pressure.

Investigative case management

  • Research a range of corporate intelligence and compliance projects including due diligence, business intelligence, market entry studies, problem solving and stakeholder mapping exercises with focus on Central and Eastern Europe
  • Summarise relevant research findings in a well-organised report in English
  • Collaborate with team members across the firm to deliver projects
  • Brief and present findings in writing and verbally to internal and external clients
  • Liaise with our human source network and expand it by cultivating contacts in Central and Eastern Europe

Business and practice development

  • Seek opportunities to improve our current research methodologies, including through the application of new technology and new sources
  • Support senior staff by identifying sales leads, providing research into prospective clients, and helping to organise sales meetings

Essential

  • Experience in online and database research
  • A good understanding of Europe’s political and commercial environment, with focus on Central and Eastern Europe
  • Understanding of key anti-bribery and corruption principles in the commercial sector in Central and Eastern Europe
  • Professional fluency in English and another Central or Eastern European language (Polish, Czech, Romanian or Greek)
  • Good understanding of German is an advantage
  • Strong writing skills and ability to summarise complex information in a concise manner
  • Inquisitiveness, creative problem-solving and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Education to Bachelor’s degree

Preferred

  • Initial professional experience within the corporate intelligence and compliance industry. Strong knowledge of research techniques, databases, networks, online registers and archives, and research in the general internet
  • In-depth understanding / expertise in a specific industry sector / country of Central and Eastern Europe
