Job Description

What You Get To Do:

The State Director is responsible for the overall administration and growth of services in New Jersey.  New Jersey Dungarvin has approximately 300 employees who provide services to 140 persons at 20+ residential and day program locations with annual revenue $20 million plus.

In this role, the State Director is responsible for:

  • Setting strategic operations
  • Managing marketing and fiscal direction
  • Expansion of existing services and development of new lines of business
  • Evaluation of programs and services
  • Assuring compliance with all applicable rules, standards, and laws.
  • Serve as the primary representative of Dungarvin and a liaison between senior administrative staff and funding and oversight authorities.

Additionally, the State Director is responsible for nurturing and developing relationships with potential and existing business partners including local, state, and Federal legislative and department representatives, advocacy groups, trade associations, and other stakeholders as warranted.

Qualifications

What Makes You A Great Fit:

  • Bachelor's degree in human services field required (Psychology, Counseling, Allied Health, Educational Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, etc.). Preference to master’s degree.
  • Minimum of 7-8 years human services industry experience, specific to Developmentally Disabled/Intellectual Disabilities populations. Combined with 5 years of progressive senior level management experience.
  • Experience managing day program, supported living, residential programs with the DD/ID population.
  • Must have financial management skills and budget experience of 20 million plus as well as be personally accountable for the P&L.  
  • Previous experience with the state of New Jersey systems and/or with New Jersey DD Waiver services required.

Additional Information

Other Details:

  • The state director's schedule is Monday- Friday 8:30AM- 5:00PM (FLEX) and should anticipate evening, weekend hours and overnight stays; to meet the needs of subordinates, customers, and external entities, and to achieve organizational outcomes.
  • Travel within the state of New Jersey is required.
