Cherokee County Farm Bureau Outreach CoordinatorPurpose:Are you passionate about agriculture and eager to spread that enthusiasm throughout Cherokee County? Do you thrive in an independent work environment? Cherokee County Farm Bureau is seeking an Outreach Coordinator who embodies these qualities and more.Basic Function:Perform communications and outreach duties on behalf of the County Farm Bureau. Duties involve County Farm Bureau coordination of events including public outreach and event coordination, assisting the Ag in the Classroom coordinator with activities, communication with general membership, managing social media accounts, and publishing articles for the Farm Bureau newsletter publication.Essential Functions:• Maintain regular contact with supervisor regarding Farm Bureau activities.• Research, prepare, and submit articles to the newsletter.• Maintain a social media presence on important platforms.• Develop and coordinate outreach efforts as directed by the County Board of Directors.• Assist Ag in the Classroom Coordinator as needed.• Coordinate activities and records for the county board of directors including preparation of documents and materials for the County Board of Directors meetings. Examples include timely meeting notices, meeting minutes, preparing details for discussion topics, preparing agenda items, preparing refreshments, and follow-up on details post-meeting.• Work and communicate with Committee Chairs, Executive Officers, and Board of Directors as needed on projects or county business.• Serve as a positive liaison between supervisor, staff, volunteers, and affiliated companies.• Collect and enter member advertisements in the Spokesman.• Membership database updates and data mining.• Collect and process membership information or payments from renewing clients.Non-Essential Functions:• Maintaining a professional image of workspace and office.• Other duties as assigned.What We're Seeking:• Detail-oriented individuals committed to delivering high-quality, consistent work.• Organized and motivated self-starter.• Creative writing skills as an Editor of Cherokee County Spokesman page.• Comfortable operating within a Microsoft environment to support the works of the Cherokee County Farm Bureau Board of Directors.• Proficient in navigating social media platforms.• Willing to collaborate with both staff and volunteers across diverse activities.• Confident speakers that are comfortable addressing groups of various ages.• Enthusiastic about engaging with the community to promote agriculture.• Well-versed and interested in the agricultural industry.• Currently part-time (up to 20-24 hours per week).• Limited travel primarily in Cherokee County.• Based in Cherokee, Iowa with programs conducted throughout Cherokee County.• Flexible work schedule available after training is completed.Join us in making a meaningful impact on our community and advancing a deeper appreciation for agriculture among its residents!This position is an employee of Cherokee County Farm Bureau.
