We are a results-oriented culture and believe job descriptions are a thing of the past. We prescribe to 90 day plans and believe that good days, lead to good weeks, which lead to good months. This serves as a preview of the 90 day plan you will receive if you were to be hired as a Project Manager, DFR at Flock Safety.
The First 30 Days
In the first 30 days, the Project Manager will onboard and immerse themselves in Flock’s mission, values, and DFR program objectives. They will familiarize themselves with project details, reviewing documentation, timelines, and requirements of the deployment process. Key activities will include building relationships with cross-functional teams and external partners, learning project management tools and processes, and understanding the technical aspects of the Flock Aerodome hardware ecosystem. The role will also involve shadowing customer calls, observing ongoing DFR projects, and preparing for the Part 107 certification exam. By the end of the month, the Project Manager will begin taking on initial project assignments, coordinating efforts with senior staff to ensure successful deployments.
The First 60 Days
In the next 60 days, the Project Manager will take ownership of a smaller, defined component of a DFR deployment, gaining hands-on experience with Flock and Aerodrome’s systems, processes, and technologies. This will involve actively managing the scope, schedule, and resources for the project component, ensuring alignment with key stakeholders. The role will also include leading their first technical feasibility and project alignment session, preparing the necessary materials and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure that project requirements, timelines, and resources are clearly defined and agreed upon. By the end of this phase, the Project Manager will have a deeper understanding of deployment challenges, risks, and solutions, and will be positioned to take on larger project responsibilities in the future. Additionally, they will continue to develop their technical knowledge, including operational aspects of the Flock Aerodome hardware ecosystem, as well as deployment best practices for hardware and software integration.
90 Days & Beyond
In the final 30 days of the 90-day period, the Project Manager will take full responsibility for one or more active DFR projects, managing them from planning through to execution. Under the mentorship of an experienced project manager, they will coordinate all phases of the project, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. A key milestone during this phase will be successfully completing their first core project milestones. Additionally, the Project Manager will coordinate the efforts of internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the installation of complex hardware components within the Flock Aerodome hardware ecosystem. Successful installation of this equipment will be a critical achievement in the project’s progression, demonstrating the Project Manager's ability to handle the technical and operational complexities of large-scale DFR deployments. By the end of the 90 days, the Project Manager will be fully integrated into the team and capable of leading projects independently, managing both the technical and logistical aspects of DFR deployments.
