Security Dispatcher Job at Foster Farms in Livingston

The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office is hiring a full time DISPATCHER. This position is part of the bargaining unit and all wages and benefits are administered by the collective bargaining agreement. Under the general supervision of the Ottawa County Sheriff, a dispatcher is responsible for the operations of telephone equipment and two-way radios to dispatch personnel and equipment for law enforcement, fire, rescue, security and transportation as well as various other agencies; assists in processing and overseeing paging and telephone messages; receives and records telephone calls; operates County in-house computer system and 9-1-1 emergency system, and performs other duties. A more detailed job description is available upon request.Qualified applicants should:1. Have any combination of training and experience that indicates skills in communications etiquette and techniques, public relations, office practices, radio and telephone equipment, County and area-wide geography, law enforcement technology;2. Have a high school diploma or GED;3. Six (6) months experience in same or similar field is preferred but not required;4. Possess a valid drivers' license.Employees may be required to work overtime or irregular hours.
