As a Freelance SEO Analyst, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our suite of partner-specific websites’ visibility and driving organic traffic through effective keyword research, keyword gap analysis, and SERP recommendations. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Demand Generation Strategy, this position requires in-depth knowledge of SEO principles, techniques, and best practices and a detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and delivering high-quality work.
As our Freelance, SEO Analyst, you will:
- Conduct comprehensive keyword research to identify relevant and high-value keywords for our target audience
- Perform keyword gap analysis to identify opportunities to improve our website's search engine rankings and organic traffic
- Make SERP (Search Engine Results Page) recommendations based on keyword analysis and competitive insights
- Provide guidance and recommendations on content optimization to improve organic search rankings and click-through rates
- Collaborate with the content strategist to develop and refine editorial plans that align with SEO goals and maximize visitor experiences, and with the larger marketing team to ensure SEO best practices are implemented throughout the content development process
- Support on-page SEO content implementation, including meta tags, headings, URLs, and internal linking structure, to enhance search engine visibility
- Monitor and analyze website performance using SEO tools and analytics platforms to track keyword rankings, organic traffic, and other key metrics
- Perform regular audits of our website to identify technical SEO issues and provide recommendations for improvement
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, algorithm updates, and best practices in SEO to continually improve our strategies and tactics
You have:
- 3-5 years of relevant previous experience as an SEO Analyst/Specialist or in a similar role, with a strong track record of improving organic search visibility and driving traffic
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant certifications/experienceExperience with keyword research tools, SEO analytics platforms, and crawling tools (Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush or similar tools)
- Familiarity with content management systems (like WordPress) and website development processes
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, draw insights, and make data-driven recommendations
- Strong understanding of search engine algorithms and ranking factors
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as it relates to SEO
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams
- Working knowledge of G Suite Applications (Docs, Slides, Sheets)
- Experience working in the higher education industry and awareness of trends in education and technology a plus
- Ability to work effectively in dynamic, rapidly changing, team-based environment
- Availability to meet with strategists during late afternoon South African time
$35 - $45 an hour
