As a Software Quality Engineer working in our office in Cluj, you will be part of a team that works on Garmin Connect IQ, an online store where you can find creative ways to personalize your compatible Garmin device with watch faces, apps, widgets, data, music and other features . Our complex architecture and consolidated teams are the key points why you should want to work with us. As a software quality engineer, you will be involved in writing and execution of automated tests for Garmin applications.

From this role, you will be responsible of:

Testing newly developed software, features, and recording any issues/improvements
Developing and running effective tests to ensure product’s stability and performance – with focus on API
Providing information to development teams to support their bug fixing
Create documentation and select appropriate testing techniques and methods necessary for product validation, according to requirements

We believe that collaboration leads to the best ideas, and we rely heavily on team interaction. As a hybrid role based in Cluj-Napoca, this position will require at least 3 days in the office each week.

Must demonstrate experience in writing API automated tests
Good grasp of OOP principles (Java)
Can document, troubleshoot and isolate problems encountered during testing
At least 2 years of experience in working with web applications
BSc in Computer Science or demonstrated relevant experience
Familiarity working in an Agile environment
Has strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Good English skills

Technologies used for API testing:

REST test framework
Technical tools: IntelliJ, IT Stash, Jenkins or similar
Database servers (ability to find deadlocks, simple queries), troubleshooting logs

Would be a plus:

ISTQB Foundation or equivalent
Experience with Continuous Integration
