We are seeking an Industrial Hygiene and Safety Professional to join our team supporting the Oak Ridge National Laboratory! This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. This role is anticipated to be short-term (6 months) with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities
Provide Industrial Hygiene & Safety technical guidance to operations on environmental remediation problems and issues.
Monitoring, assessing, and resolving health and safety issues in the work environment.
Identifying and evaluating chemical/material dangers in hazard analysis/exposure assessment activities.
Utilizing IH instrumentation including calibration, usage, limitations, and calculations/interpretations of results.
Implementing applicable occupational health and safety regulations and procedures.
Requirements
Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree and 5 + years of relevant experience.
Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work
Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed
Must have a strong background in IH (preferably for an R&D organization).
Knowledge and background in chemical/material identification and evaluation along with experience in hazard analysis/exposure assessment activities.
Technical knowledge of IH instrumentation including calibration, usage, limitations, and calculations/interpretations of results.
Must have excellent communication skills to effectively convey major elements of IH&S, clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing to diverse audiences.
Must have experience preparing, reviewing and presenting Industrial Hygiene & Safety (IH&S) protection reports.
Desired Skills
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification, preferred.
