Technical Expert, Plutonium Operations

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Technical Expert, Plutonium Operations to join our team supporting Fluor on their Savannah River Plutonium Processing Facility (SRPPF) project! This position is full-time and will be based out of Aiken, SC.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise on plutonium manufacturing.

  • Assist with project flow sheets.

  • Review and prepare detailed diagrams and documents that outline the various processes, systems, and steps involved in plutonium plant operations.

  • Lead implementation of robust safety protocols.

  • Ensure continuous adherence to regulatory compliance standards.

  • Overcome challenges and complete projects in any environment.

  • Work closely with engineering team.

Requirements

  • Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field and 20+ years of relevant experience in plutonium processing and manufacturing.

  • Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work.

  • Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.

  • Must have a working knowledge of federal (including DOE), state, and local codes and standards applicable to plutonium manufacturing.

  • Must be willing to perform travel (with per diem) to Aiken, SC.

Desired Skills

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
