Founded in 2022, GreenLite is revolutionizing development in America by streamlining the collaboration between developers, builders, and local regulatory authorities. GreenLite’s software powers its Private Plan Review offering, serving many of the nation’s largest public retailers, developers, and production home builders. By leveraging GreenLite’s technology, its customers save months on each project, significantly accelerating their timelines and staying within budget.
GreenLite is founded by experts in technology, development, and within the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry, and backed by leading venture capital firms. GreenLite is at the forefront of the privatization of construction permitting and plan review, reshaping a multi-hundred billion dollar industry.
GreenLite has raised nearly $40M from the country’s leading venture capital investors, including Craft Ventures, who led GreenLite’s $28.5M Series A. We’re well capitalized to achieve our mission of revolutionizing the plan review and construction permitting process across the country.
We’re a Series A startup re‑imagining how architects and municipalities collaborate on construction drawings. Our mission -- to cut municipal review time from months to days -- hinges on data that is both trustworthy and instantly accessible.
As a key hire in our AI engineering organization, you’ll operate with a founder mindset, help in defining our long‑term data strategy, and align multiple squads behind it. Our product roadmap includes computer‑vision and large‑language‑model (LLM) capabilities; but those future models will only be as good as the data pipelines that feed them. As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and own the batch‑and‑stream pipelines, quality gates, and metadata systems that make trustworthy data instantly available for ML experimentation and eventual production deployment: directly influencing company OKRs.
Architect & implement end‑to‑end ETL/ELT workflows on AWS using state of the art tooling for this.
Model the source‑of‑truth for drawings, annotations, reviewer feedback, and regulatory metadata; enforce data contracts through automated tests.
Instrument & monitor lineage, freshness, and cost observability; drive clear SLOs for pipeline reliability that unblock ML training runs.
Collaborate tightly with ML engineers and domain experts to prioritize new data sources, labeling strategies, and feature‑store requirements.
Mentor teammates on data‑engineering craft; contribute to interviewing and onboarding to raise the bar.
Continuously improve: identify systemic inefficiencies, automate away toil, and introduce tooling that accelerates model‑development velocity and monitors costs.
Have 4‑7 years building data platforms at high‑growth companies or startups.
Are fluent in Python, SQL, and at least one modern orchestration framework. Bonus for having experience with Typescript and full stack development.
Have shipped cloud‑native data stacks (Terraform/IaC a plus) and understand cost/performance trade‑offs.
Thrive in “debate, decide, deliver” cultures—turning ambiguous product goals into concrete, maintainable systems.
90 days: Mission‑critical pipelines hit 99% SLA and supply the first clean training dataset for our prototype models.
6 months: Automated data‑quality checks catch >95% of issues before they hit downstream notebooks; ML engineers iterate without data bottlenecks; cost observability is in place and pipeline costs managed.
12 months: Lineage dashboards enable self-serve analytics, and data engineers you mentored are shipping features independently.
Own It: You act like the CEO of our data layer—no broken pipelines on your watch.
Solve Real Problems: Every schema, pipeline, and quality check exists to deliver ML‑ready data that shortens training cycles and lifts model performance—turning raw construction files into fuel for CV & LLM models.
Full Send: You move with urgency, never at the expense of data integrity.
Be Real: Radical candor about trade‑offs and technical debt keeps the team honest.
