Head-Royce School has an immediate opening for an Associate Teacher in Kindergarten, starting January 2025


Responsibilities

Head-Royce School seeks an Associate Teacher to support Kindergarten classroom teacher. We expect that Associate Teachers are either intending to pursue a career in teaching, and are interested in learning about classroom teaching practices and strategies or are looking to determine if a career in teaching is a good match for them. Associate Teachers are responsible for supporting the lead teachers’ curriculum, stated routines and general classroom culture protocols established by the lead teacher. The School seeks applicants who have a strong academic background, experience in multicultural education, an awareness of ecological literacy, an interest in project-based learning, an understanding of children and a genuine fondness for working with students.


Skills, Attitudes, and Mindsets

A desire to support lead teachers and assist specialist teachers, and to teach students collaboratively

Ability to learn and apply classroom and school yard management strategies

Demonstrated desire to support the whole child, including identified school values, social and emotional curriculum and stated systems and protocols.





Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Demonstrates a desire to seek teaching/education as a career
  • Classroom experience (volunteering or teaching) is preferred
  • Ability to provide proof of Covid Vaccination (including booster) and TB, Livescan clearance

Additional Qualifications: a bonus, but not required:
  • Enrollment in a Teacher Credentialing or Education program
  • Experience with progressive educational pedagogies (e.g. Project Based Learning, Social/Emotional curriculums, performing arts, etc.)
  • An appreciation for individual and cultural differences
  • Multilingual preferred


$53,000 - $55,000 semi monthly
Hourly position that earns approx $53,000 - $55,000 annual, paid semi monthly for 12 months. Includes benefits.
