Description : The Human Rights Campaign is seeking a Deputy Director, Digital & Social-Politics to lead the organization's digital strategy and social media messaging on politics, including federal and state legislative priorities, litigation and HRC's national electoral work. The Deputy Director will mobilize supporters to action to help reach policy, advocacy, and political goals by... strategically and tactically using digital tools. The person in this role is responsible for strategic communications via HRC's website, social media and digital advertising. The Deputy Director will have an incredible opportunity to oversee the establishment and growth of a new digital organizing function and team to strengthen HRC's electoral and legislative strategy in priority states. This position requires a person with superb communications skills and an understanding of voice, a strong command of social media marketing and campaign planning, a keen eye for engaging content and a deep desire to learn from and collaborate with colleagues. The ideal candidate is a creative strategist with substantial experience in politics, digital and social media and a passion for advancing LGBTQ rights. This is an outstanding opportunity to lead the creation of digital strategies, content, and campaigns for one of the country's most powerful and important advocacy organizations. Position Responsibilities Develop and manage integrated digital content, campaigns and social media strategies for the organization, with a focus on politics and news. Lead political messaging strategy in collaboration with senior communications, policy & political affairs, and membership staff. Oversee the establishment of a new digital organizing function at HRC to strengthen HRC's electoral and legislative strategy. Execute rapid response campaigns, including live coverage of events and commentary during key messaging moments. Collaborate with internal stakeholders on projects, content and organizational priorities--including the video and design teams on content strategy and creation, and SMS and email teams on digital campaigns and advertising. Ensure brand integrity on campaigns and digital platforms and help maintain and enforce editorial style guidelines. Produce creative, timely content for the organization's website, blog and social networking sites. Manage, mentor and support three staff members. Track new and changing digital trends and initiate the use of new technologies to improve HRC's work. Other duties as assigned. Candidate Attributes and Qualifications All candidates should bring creativity, curiosity, excellent judgment and prioritize collaboration and relationship building with colleagues. Candidates should be highly organized, detail-oriented and thrive handling multiple projects simultaneously in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with quick deadlines. Key Qualifications: Five to eight years' experience managing social media, preferably for news-driven, political and/or advocacy organizations. Expertise with social media platforms, digital organizing, and other digital tools and a passion for using these tools to drive action and engagement. Broad experience in managing social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tik Tok. Proven history of forging strong and positive relationships with stakeholders and seeking a diversity of opinions on projects. Talent for communicating online; excellent writing and editing skills. Ability to lead, model, and embed equity, diversity and inclusion principles. Flexibility with work schedule; this position requires regular evening and weekend work. Strong commitment to HRC's mission and goals. Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience. Salary Range: $150K -- $200K Minimum Qualification Digital Marketing & Social MediaEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications
