Payroll Specialist

DMG Corporation (*Ambient) is a regional, independent sales agency for premier HVAC equipment representing engineered products designed and customized to meet our customer’s specific needs. We are growing and looking for talented, dedicated people to join our Team! We are searching for a Payroll Specialist. This position will be based at our company headquarters in Orange, California. The successful candidate will have at least 2-4 years of experience in the full payroll cycle. This position will report to the Controller.

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the following job duties:

• Prepare and process weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls across multiple entities. The weekly payroll could include some certified prevailing wage processing.
• Ensure timely submission of employee 401(k) withholdings and employer 401(k) match.
• Ensure data within the payroll system is up to date, including deductions, withholding elections, employee data, etc.
• Run required reports after each payroll for journal entries, workers comp reports, 401(k), administration, paid time off tracking and other reports as needed.
• Enter and maintain garnishments, as required.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Experience:

• Minimum 2-4 years' experience processing payroll through the full payroll cycle.
• Prevailing wage, certified payroll experience is a big plus but not required.
• Experience in multi-state tax payroll processing and reporting.
• Full understanding of payroll taxes, pre-tax deductions and wage and hour law.

Experience processing payroll with Paylocity a huge plus!

Compensation:

$26-$32/hr DOE
