Android Developer

We are currently seeking a motivated Android Developer to join our Digital Engineering team. You'll be creating the next generation of our connected fitness software, delivering a world class experience to customers on a number of high profile equipment brands.

Role Commitments

• Build and maintain high-quality, production-grade Android applications
• Contribute to a culture of clean, scalable, and testable mobile architecture
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive user experiences
• Take ownership of features and drive them from design through release
• Stay current with Android platform updates and evaluate their impact on our apps

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications that meet business requirements
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code using SOLID principles
• Work with Senior Developers to architect and implement new features and functionality
• Optimize, troubleshoot, and debug Android applications for performance and scalability
• Collaborate with the design team to ensure intuitive and responsive user experiences
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in Android development
• Mentor Junior Android Developers as needed
• Provide constructive feedback during design discussions, planning, and code reviews

Education and Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

• 2+ years of experience in Android development

• Experience with Android development frameworks and APIs

• Experience programming in Kotlin or Java

• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and JSON

• Experience in UI/UX development, preferably using Jetpack Compose

• Experience with version control systems such as Git

• Experience with agile development practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts and design patterns

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Good communication and collaboration skills
