Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The Clinic RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members in an outpatient clinic setting. Clinic RNs are pivotal members of the care delivery team headed by the physician and have specialized knowledge, skills and ability pertinent to ambulatory care patient needs. Scope of performance includes prioritization and triage of care delivery, implementing established standing orders and protocols, performing procedures and therapies consistent with training and licensure.

Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) at Northfield Family Medicine and Green Valley Ranch is a dedicated caregiver responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. This RN utilizes the nursing process alongside technology, therapeutic interventions, evidence-based practices, and effective coordination with the healthcare team in an outpatient clinic setting.
About the RN Role:
As a Registered Nurse in our clinics, you will be responsible for triaging calls, managing MyChart messages, and assisting walk-in patients. Your role will include providing patient education on medication management, and acting as a clinical resource for medical assistants. This position requires a commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care. This position will support OBGYN and our Midwife practice until they warrant their own RN hiring later this year or next.

  • Shift Details: Fulltime – 40 hours per week
  • Location details: This is a Hybrid position. The Triage RN is in the clinic on Monday-Wednesday and Friday and can work remotely Tuesday and Thursday 8am-5pm. The primary location is the Superior OBGYN clinic with occasional travel tothe Lafayette OBGYN location at least 1 a month.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prioritize patient education by providing comprehensive training on medication management, including self-injection techniques and medication reconciliation. This approach supports the effective management of hypertension and diabetes programs, ultimately ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  • Triage calls, MyChart messages, and walk-in patients effectively.
  • Perform lab result outreach and monitor medication safety.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for medical assistants and other staff.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Pay Rate: Competitive salary based on experience.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current RN License in the state of Colorado or compact license with the ability to obtain Colorado RN license.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited program, with the ability to obtain a BSN within four years unless possessing 15 years of continuous RN experience.
  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
  • One year of experience in a clinic setting or inpatient acute hospital setting with experience in Women's health is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.- and -Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.- and -Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.- and -Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.- and -Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).- and -May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
